Oops, I Did it Again! Part Dos

The question is, which oops do I start with?  Maybe I should have called this post Oopses, I Did it Again! I do tend to make a lot of oopses when I’m posting late at night, especially when I’ve been arguing.  I won’t say “when I’m tired, because I’m almost always tired by the time I have a chance to sit down and write.  It’s one of the great frustrations of my life.  Previewing and proofreading are wonderful things, but they don’t work when your eyes are closed.

At any rate, if you tried to watch the video of “Little Sister” with lederhosen and adorable flub Bonuses! a couple of days ago, it turns out to be one of those damnable videos that obstinately refuses to embed.  So, I fixed it by just providing the link, which you can paste in your browser window if you care to.

Oops the second is that in addition to seeing Rufus at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond next Friday, I’ll be spending Valentine’s Day with him in Philadelphia at Verizon Hall!  With Martha opening!  This looks to be a stunning venue with superb acoustics, so I am thoroughly geeked.

In case you wondered, I’ll be in Row C, just a bit to stage right.  Tickets go on sale to the general public on Saturday October 13, so if you have a chance to go, you won’t regret it.

I need to do this show as much on the cheap as possible, so I investigated fares and found out I can travel round-trip on Amtrak for a mere $80 each way.  Unless airfares take a dive, this may be my first train trip in many moons.  Actually there are some advantages to scheduling a train in winter because it’s a bit less likely to be grounded by the weather, so the choo-choo may just be the way to go regardless.

Rufus Wainwright Month is almost over, but for those who have enjoyed some of my more self-indulgent posts, I will certainly make time to say a few words about the Release the Stars album and tour and what they mean to ME, DENA.  Because, um, that’s what Rufus Wainwright Month is all about.

Martha has always been kinda hit-and-miss for me, but I haven’t seen her do a whole set since the night I passed out in 2003.  One of my favorite songs of hers is Question of Etiquette, so do have a listen if you haven’t heard it.
